Job description
Today, elite financial planning is unscalable because it lives inside the heads of experts like you. It is manual, expensive, and limited by the number of client meetings you can hold per week.
At Frame, we are fixing that by turning financial logic into code.
We are building an AI-powered financial office that delivers top-1% planning to the millions of Americans in the 90th–99th percentile of wealth. We are not looking for a standard CFP to manage a book of business. We are seeking a Founding Planner to serve as the Product Architect for our AI agents.
You will sit with our engineers to design the decision trees for complex tax, equity, and estate strategies, scaling your expertise from 100 households to 1M+.
Some things we're proud of
🗺️ Founders: Jon previously built TextNow (200M downloads), Chandan was previously a product manager at Google & Google[x]
💼 $100M+ venture capital raised from Accel, General Catalyst, Y Combinator, Initialized Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Kraken Ventures, Intuit Ventures, 776 Ventures, Balaji Srinivasan, Claire Hughes Johnson, Gokul Rajaram, Serena Williams, Zach Perret
🌴 Awesome benefits
Your mission
Give everyone access to financial planning for the 1%.
One-year outcomes
250 customers with NPS 70+
AI agent independently handles 80% of user queries without human intervention
AI agent delivers zero critical hallucinations (inaccurate planning advice)
What you will do
Architect the "Brain": break down complex decisions (e.g., “Should I exercise my ISOs?” or “Can I afford this home?”) into strict logic trees and "if/then" statements that our engineers can code
Train the AI: you will review AI-generated advice, correct its logic, and write the "System Instructions" that prevent hallucinations on tax and compliance topics
Solve edge cases: you will move beyond generic advice to handle the messy reality of our users—AMT crossover points, QSBS stacking, uneven cash flows, and multi-state tax issues
Define the standard: you won't just follow industry rules; you will define the guardrails for how AI interacts with fiduciary advice, writing the playbook the rest of the industry will follow in five years
Who you are
You are a Technical Planner, not a Relationship Manager. You became a Lead Advisor because you knew the numbers better than anyone else in the room, not because you were good at playing golf with clients.
What we look for
Role-agnostic
Impact: Demonstrated ability to drive business impact
Mission alignment: Hungry and motivated about making progress towards our mission
Trust: Say what you believe. Do what you say.
Communication: Able to clearly talk about the details and also zoom out to the bigger picture
Role-specific
Active CFP license
5+ years of experience creating tailored financial plans
Deep expertise in one or more planning domains (e.g., equity compensation, investment, retirement, estate planning)
Logic-driven: can explain the math behind your recommendations
Tech-Forward: you view AI as a superpower. You are likely the person in your current firm who builds complex "Shadow Spreadsheets" because eMoney is too simplistic
Low ego
High agency
Anti-corporate
This role is NOT for you if
You want to manage a traditional client book
You prefer stability and comfort over ambiguity and fast iteration
You prefer tools that already exist over building new ones
You believe human financial planners will be a critical component of financial planning in 10 years
Why join Frame now?
Impact: Help 250+ customers achieve financial clarity in your first year
Autonomy: define the Source of Truth for a new category of software that will shape the trajectory of the planning industry
Upside: equity in a venture-backed moonshot at the ground floor
The annual salary for this role is between $138,000 - $190,000. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of job-related factors, including relevant skills, education, and experience. This position also includes equity in CoinTracker and benefits like medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and PTO.
